Public Health and Dentistry

Dental Public Health is a non-clinical area of dentistry that focuses on oral health promotion and disease prevention. The assessment of essential dental health requirements and the development of efficient strategies to improve the dental health of populations rather than individuals are the responsibilities of dental public health. Most of the time, public health dentistry is practiced through government-sponsored programs that focus on teaching oral hygiene to children in public schools because they believe this is the most effective way to reach the general public.
