Prosthodontics

One of the subspecialties of dentistry known as prosthodontics deals with the replacement of missing teeth and the soft and hard tissues that go along with them with prostheses (crowns, bridges, and dentures). These prostheses can be fixed, removable, or supported and held in place by implants. Dental prosthetics, also known as prosthetic dentistry or prosthodontics, is the branch of dentistry that focuses on dental prostheses. It is the dental specialty that uses biocompatible substitutes to diagnose, plan treatment, rehabilitate, and maintain oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions related to missing or deficient teeth or oral and maxillofacial tissues
