<p justify;"="" style="text-align: justify;"> Oral medicine also known as stomatology, dental medicine or oral and maxillofacial medicine is an interface between medicine and dentistry which is concerned with the non-surgical management and clinical diagnosis of the dental and non-dental pathologies which is affecting the mouth and lower face region of the face. Prophylaxis is a procedure performed usually for the thorough cleaning of the teeth. Antibiotic prophylaxis is used for patients in dentistry, who are at a great risk of developing endocarditis or prosthetic joint infection. The main motive is to remove/ reduce the transient bacterium caused by the invasive dental procedure.
