Halitosis and Tooth Decay

Bad breath, also called halitosis, can be embarrassing. According to dental studies, about 85% of people with persistent bad breath have a dental condition. Gum diseases, dry mouth, cavities are some of the dental problems that can cause bad breath. Tooth cavities are caused by plaque which is a sticky substance that binds to teeth and is a combination of Bacteria, Virus and Food particles. The plaque sticks to the teeth and the acid in plaque can slowly erode tooth enamel which is a hard, protective coating on your teeth that protects against tooth decay.
